Private community access to lake
Lake Istokpoga is a 26,762.9-acre freshwater lake, fed by two creeks, Arbuckle Creek and Josephine Creek.
The lake is approximately 5 miles wide by 10 miles long. It is considered the fifth largest lake in the state of Florida, and among the best fishing lakes for wide mouth bass, croppie, and catfish.
Screen enclosed heated outdoor swimming pool
Our residents can enjoy swim classes for the novice swimmer or improve upon their technique, participate in water aerobics and exercise classes, attend pool parties, or just a relaxing dip at the end of a long day!
Community garden and citrus groves
Residents are welcome to pick their own citrus in our Community Groves, choosing from several varieties of oranges, grapefruit, lemons, and limes!
Enjoy fresh squeezed orange juice or lemonade any time, or taste the many varieties of oranges at the height of their season, right off the tree!
Fellowship Center
Banquet Style Seating for 200 people, full service kitchen, stage and sound system.
Our Fellowship Center is the place to be for our many community activities including Coffee Hour, Music Nights, Dances, Potluck Carry-ins, Game Nights and more!
Library
The Palms Estates has just dedicated a NEW Library with a media Lounge! With plenty to choose from - whether your tastes lean toward fiction, nonfiction, biographies, mysteries, art, philosophy, or current events, we'll have something to stir your interest! We have well over 2000 books, periodicals, and magazines.
Our Book Club meets every other Tuesday during High Season!
Hobby House
A multi-use building featuring billiards tables, a large screen TV, seating for approximately 50 people and an assortment of games.
Residents can have a friendly game of pool, have a watch party for their favorite team during playoffs, a card tournament and even join in a square dance class.
Horseshoe Pits
In horseshoes, there are two ways to score: by throwing "ringers" or by throwing the horseshoe nearest to the stake. This scoring system gives rise to the popular expression "Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades". Spend some time outside and make some new friends playing a few rounds of horseshoes on our regulation size pits!
Shuffleboard Court
The game of kings - played by King Henry VIII, who forbade commoners from playing!
Our residents have regularly scheduled weekly games on our outdoor shuffleboard court!
Fish Cleaning House
You caught them, now it's time to clean them! There's nothing more satisfying than a perfectly seasoned filet, fresh caught in your own backyard - whether it's dinner for two, or a backyard fish fry for you and 20 of your closest friends!
Nature Trails Nearby
The Palms Estates is the ideal location for hikers, bird watchers and nature lovers.
We're an easy 1/2 hour drive or less from many parks, trail heads, and wildlife refuges, including the impressive Highlands Hammock State Park, Kissimmee River Prairie Park, Istokpoga Park, Arbuckle Creek, Florida Cracker Trail, and more. Be sure to bring a camera!
Outdoor Barbeque Grill
Hot dogs, pork chops, fried fish, pizza and many more delicious cookouts. We do community meals rights!
